NAG in the news.

Recently, we’ve been reading a lot about the NAG being discussed by members of the commnunity. CNA covered the story and Today newspaper had their centerspread on the NAG. Some interesting questions were asked and as architects and designers, these issues should probably be in the back of our mind as we engage in the design of a building that is going to be loaded with meaning.

Artists of Top 40 Designs for Singapore’s First Nation-wide Postbox Public Art Competition, STAMP, to Start Painting This Sunday

- Painting activity to take place over three Sundays
- Public voting for top 10 designs from 2 to 29 April 07

Singapore’s cityscape will undergo some uniquely vibrant changes when 40 individuals and teams get down to work this Sunday, painting SingPost’s postboxes. Their art designs were selected from an overwhelming response of over a 1000 entries to STAMP, Singapore’s first postbox art competition. The artists will be allowed to unleash their creative talents on postboxes in the city area over three Sundays starting 11 March 07.

In the past two years, widespread catastrophic events have called forth large-scale relief
efforts throughout both urban and rural areas of the world. How would you design an
emergency relief structure to be used in the relief efforts of a natural disaster, such as a
flood, earthquake or hurricane?

ShelterMe challenges designers to present a cost-effective short-term shelter that is
affordable, lightweight, strong and easily deployed.
