What if our HDB flats were given a second life?

What if the Toa Payoh HDB Estate was given a second chance, and re-developed?
This submission to the IFHP: Future Of Cities competition (Student Category) aims to do just that by engaging in an exploration of how judicious intervention might not only increase the housing stock of an existing estate, but to also value-add by turning houses into homes; and then some more.

This submission shown above, the work of a few good souls from the National University of Singapore, involves some imaginative thinking involving mid-level connections and some adaptive re-use of HDB blocks. Do give it a look via this link: Official Submission Website
