History

Formative years

FIVEFOOTWAY.com was started in May 2007 by 5ft Creatives as a blog to explore Asian Architecture. The website was designed and coded by the 2 founders of 5ft Creatives, Adib J and JJ Yeo and all content was produced by themselves too. In its first year of operations, FIVEFOOTWAY experienced a slow and steady growth in its readers and reputation despite its extremely limited resources and the positive developments continued to its second year of operations.

Finding our feet

2008 saw the growing emergence of FIVEFOOTWAY as its founders, 5ft Creatives, was selected to represent Singapore in ‘Cityscapers by the Throat’, an international workshop organised by the British Council. The same year also saw 5ft Creatives being selected as one of the presenters in the Singapore Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Other positives include the development of a collaborative editorial framework was established between 5ft Creatives and the Singapore Architect’s magazine, produced by the Singapore Institute of Architects.

On 10th September 2008 (10/9/8), 5ft Creatives unveiled FIVEFOOTWAY.com version 2.0 which featured a refined graphic identity in an attempt to clearly define FIVEFOOTWAY and its developers, 5ft Creatives. V2.0 also saw web interface design improvements, re-organisation of the tagging system used and also improvements to the backend softwares.
