We feel that it is time to explore what Asian Architecture means. With the power and responsibility to shape the built environment, we owe it to ourselves to understand and explore the meaning and implications of our actions to the society. As the Asian Architectural fraternity matures, we need to engage each other in dialogue and discussion in order to advance the profession.

The Name

The Magazine owes its name to the distinctive architectural feature found in the shophouses of Singapore, Malacca, Penang and other Asian cities. The five-foot way is essentially public space on private land, where the boundaries of inside and outside blur and overlap.
